New workshop scheduled for
7/25-7/27/08: "Have A Blast With Glass. A three day workshop with Peggy Pettigrew
Stewart, Keith Jones & Jean Lutz. Sand blasting &
etching, sand carving, and the beautiful Intaglio "Verre Eglomise"
technique of reverse glass carving, painting, and inlay of fine
metals (copper, silver & gold). Working primarily
with float glass, however the program includes working with fusible
glass also. Special hotel rates for those coming from out of
town.

PART 1
Learn the basics to advanced techniques of
creating pattern bars, AND turning them into beautiful glass
pieces. POSSIBILITIES! Not only can you
make plates & platters, you will learn how to use in jewelry,
sculpture, art, functional pieces, and anything that is POSSIBLE.
You will use the pattern bars to create anything you want. This is
a technique class, where you will learn the skills to make
incredible pattern bars This is PART 1 of a 3 part class (optional).

PART 2
Learn to make the pattern bars, and cut them. Then to build,
incorporate & include them in fused pieces. Slump, mold, fuse
- whatever it takes.

PART 3
is coldworking. This is the part where you create a fabulous
PROFESSIONAL piece. The coldworking gives you possibilities for
finishing & changing your pattern bar piece. Make beautiful or
sculptural edges. Learn how to make a matte finish, sandblast your
barwork, and more. Each class is scheduled separately. take
one, two or all three. Additional studio time is included in the

CREATIVE CUTTING: With The Apfels: Mike, Ryan &
Cheryl Apfel. These extrodinary glass
artists from California will be here to teach a very special two day
workshop. Irid glass is the glass that mimics dichroic. Learn
to create beautiful pieces using several methods. Create Irid
Sandwiches, sandblasting, fusing & coldworking. Incorporate
these into beautiful artistic glass creations. use in everything
from plates, platters, tiles, to bowls and sinks. And everything in
between.


Fused Glass Pattern Bars (& the magic glass
box) Learn how to make pattern bars
(with ease), and how to slice and use them. Learn about the
"magic glass box". You will use glass, metal & more.
Results? INCREDIBLE works of art (tiles, jewelry, platters,
slumped pieces, jewelry and many one-of-a-kind art
pieces). FOR ALL FUSERS: This is a new easier
method of making pattern bars. A new way and easy way to
create & using pattern bars via the "glass box" method.
For those who don't know what you do with pattern bars, you can do
ANYTHING & everything! Jewelry, slumped large glass
pieces, plates, bowls, sculpture, lighting, anything you can dream
of. No experience required. Each student will complete
several pattern bars / tiles, and will prepare them for inclusion in
a project of the student's choice (jewelry, plates, bowls, platters,
wall art, etc.) You can even use dichroic
glass!

"FLOAT AWAY THE CAVE CREEK
WAY".
A combination of fusing, slumping,
carving, sandblasting, and more. Like to work BIG, small, slump,
carve? This is a very interesting class, learning to use float
(thick) glass. Much less cranky and less expensive than art glass.
Create beautiful glass furniture, tables, tiles, windows, gifts,
trophies, awards - you name it. Light it up even! This is my
personal favorite of all the classes. Open to
all.
FUSED GLASS
JEWELRY Dichroic glass & more
Learn
to make dichroic and iridized glass jewelry. Includes pendants,
bracelets, cabochons,rings,and more. Make glass jewelry, using all
types of glass (not just dichroic). Learn how to use fine metals
(silver, gold, copper) to mount and show off your jewelry.
Learn how to make fused glass beads! Taught by the best fused

Fusing: "CROSSING OVER

creative thinking, and working in 3D. It is very interesting (and
beautiful) way of combing the beauty of iridized glass with etched

PEGGY PETTIGREW
STEWART:
"Desert GlassHopper". Teaching her wonderful
"Anything IS Possible" glass workshops. Peggy created the unique
"Plasma Fusion" and "GlassHopper Fusion" glass techniques.
These techniques are unique combinations of fusing, slumping,
carving, painting, metal inlay, dichroic, and working with float
glass. Her glass art is currently on exhibition in
fine galleries around the USA. Her artwork is quite unique, and
exciting. She has been featured in several national and
international magazines, books and on television. As seen in

BANDHU: This Grand Master of glass
teaches flamework and sculptural glass at the finest art
institutes in the world. However, we were thrilled to have him
join us for a multiday experience. Explore the possibilities of
crossing flamework with fusing, and using the torch to expand your
fusing abilities. Bandhu is one of the masters, and author
of several books. He has taught at Pilchuck, Corning,

BAKO: The award winning glass artist
from Washington State. Pat is also known as the Cold Working
Studio instructor and supervisor at Pilchuck International Glass
