3/05: FUN FUN
FUN......FRIDAY NIGHT ART WALK NIGHT IN CAVE
CREEK! This fall
local art galleries & studios will be open Friday nights from
5-9pm. Come and visit all the wonderful galleries (and food) as part
of the Cave Creek & Carefree Gallery Association Art Walk.
Horse drawn carriages carry visitors around the quaint town.
Our
favorite is Mother Lode Fine Art Gallery on Hidden Valley Drive,
in Cave Creek! Check out their beautiful
gallery. By the way MOTHER LODE has the ENRIGHT ocean art
(think Dolphins & whales). And the great DeAmbrosi bronzes,
& few Hildebrandt pieces (think "Lord Of The
Rings").

2/10/04: CURT
REYNOLDS (1951-2004): We miss you! To Corky,
Melissa & Genie (his wife & daughters), we share your loss
and pain. All of us at the studio are here to help you
through the coming weeks & months. As a member of our family,
and our best friend, this loss is painful for our GlassHopper
Studio family.

THINGS
TO MAKE YOU SMILE:
3/23/04: Well, our intern especiale'has
learned to take us seriously now. We warned her that she has
to provide some sacrificial glass (broken glass) for our
"Goddess Of Broken Glass", Amphora. The story goes, that if
you don't, she will sneak up and break your glass. WELL,
Cheryl found out about that heartbreak hotel. After laboring
(and I do mean LABORING) over a beautiful carved vase, POP went the
glass. And then she knocked over another one of her pieces, and a
third (possibly fourth) broke in her car. Well, I think
her dues are now paid in full for the remainder of this year.
Ok,
how DO you get this contact paper apart? We warned Tim about
this roll of VERY sticky (stuck?) paper. He was determined to use
it. We all bet how long it would take him to give up. He was
determined he would get it apart. WELL, he finally gave up, and went
for the good stuff. Quite funny, but you had to be here to
appreciate his frustration (and our laughter). By the way, Tim has
some terrific talents in the world of glass carving.
Tim Nevins VERY HARD
at work! We told him (bet him?) that he couldn't get the paper
off the back! Guess who won THAT bet?????????
Sammy, our new friend.
Sammy was adopted by us from FOOTHILLS ANIMAL RESCUE in Cave Creek
(a wonderful no kill shelter). Lisa & Jason (our teens)
rescued him from the shelter. For several days he was quite
"helpful" around the studio. Giving us his personal opinions (meows)
about our work. And of course he had to "try it out" by laying on
top of it all (even while we were working on it). Sammy is about 3
months old, and has a wonderful new home, with Keith & Kathy
Jones (Mother Lode Gallery). Keeping in good company, with
Ebony "Dale" Chihuly (our other neighborhood feline
friend).
